Wanting the best for animals, and believing your actions are good, does not mean what you are doing is right. Many exotic pets owners and private animal breeders claim their animals lead a fulfilling life - and are maybe even spoiled. This video shows that loving an animal and wanting it to be happy doesn’t change its quality of life.
It’s important for all people involved with animals to look for objective signs of wellness - aggression, anxiety, obsessive or repeated behaviors and self injury are all signs that the individual is suffering. Even if you love your pet they might still have a poor quality of life.
